Labor Day Weekend Photos

It was a nice long weekend. John made progress on a lot of different things that needed doing. He hung our new kitchen cabinet doors and he mowed the whole property. He smoked some chicken breasts . We went to church on Sunday. I walked 3 miles on the state park trails which I haven’t done since it got too hot in June. I started reading The Andromeda Strain.

Went to lunch with hubby at Wolf Pack Grill .
I really liked this cool looking bbq smoker .
It’s been raining a lot, but it was sunny at that time.
I made chili on a rainy afternoon.
We worked on the doors together.
I made my dog very happy by taking her for a walk at the state park.
I went shopping at Goodwill and found this really nice Banana Republic shirt . Alas, it’s too small . I’m going to try to sell it on Poshmark . Here’s the link https://posh.mk/RzxtZWAy5sb.

How was your weekend?

  1. The Andromeda Strain is one of Crichton’s best ever! However, I have never read any of his books without coming away wiser and better informed, even though all I have read are his fiction novels. He was one smart cookie! One of his later ones, State of Fear, has been mentioned in a couple of my blogs as enviro-terrorist try to hoodwink the world into thinking they know what is going on in the world.😉

    • I have been wanting to read Andromeda Strain so I was excited when I found it at Goodwill for 99 cents. I read State of Fear last year, very interesting. I agree that his books are educational. Have you read his book called Next ?

      • I have not read any of Crichton’s pseudonymous books (e.g., the ones by Lange, Hudson or Douglas) but they are all on my purchase list for next year. Airframe, Timeline, Next, Pirate Latitudes and Dragon Teeth are the Crichton fiction titles also on that list. I have not read any of his non-fiction … yet. 😉
Wish he was still with us to write about the current state of affairs in America.

      • C. A., I also have Rising Sun and Airframe on my shelf, but haven’t read them. I’d be happy to send Next and Airframe to you. My Goodwill store always has Crichton books. Yes, I’d love to see what he would write about today! I didn’t know he also wrote under other names.

I'd love to hear your thoughts!
