Do you have Weak (Faith) Muscles?

Oftentimes we have no choice but to wait for God to intervene in our lives. There is sometimes just no easy or quick fix or even no real understanding of what is happening or why. Despite the constant flow of memes that tell us otherwise, there may be simply no way we can overcome certain problems in our own power , at this time, and we just have to wait for God to move. We can easily become consumed with fear, anger, anxiety, hopelessness, and even get depressed and start to believe that God doesn’t care or worse, that maybe he’s not real.

But in fact this is the very situation that is so important to strengthening our faith! Only by prayerfully submitting to God’s will in difficult situations will we ever develop the faith that brings true peace in those situations when they arise again later , which they will, especially as you get older. Think of these trying times or trials as growth ‘opportunities’ . Because this is your chance to really exercise those prayer and faith and trust muscles! Pray as hard as you can! And then believe as hard as you can that God is good, he is faithful, he is in control, and His will is best, even if He doesn’t do what you expect or want him to do.

Then sit back, keep praying, wait, and watch, and keep praying, don’t lose hope, praise Him, believe him, and see what he does! Actually, in some cases, it’s best to not keep thinking about it. Instead just tell yourself, God’s got this, and stop trying to fix it if there is nothing you can do. Worrying will not help! So keep yourself busy doing other good things, not trying to check up on God constantly. Thank God for every day, even when things look crazy and out of control. You can find something to be thankful for. Challenge yourself. But when things do get better, be quick to give him the glory! Let everyone know that you knew God had this. Tell them you prayed and he heard you. Sing his praises to the unbelieving world! God is good all the time!

2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, 3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. https://biblia.com/books/esv/James1.3

“Then sit back, keep praying, wait, and watch, and keep praying” – Love this. It’s the essence of staying the path. Not so easy but so important in our journey

I'd love to hear your thoughts!
