If you have a child in public school or college or even Christian school or seminary, you need to be aware of critical pedagogy. Simply put, critical pedagogy is the implementation of critical race theories beliefs into the teaching methods of teachers.
The practice of teaching from this perspective would be the same as if your child’s teacher was inserting their RELIGIOUS beliefs into the curriculum, and not only that, but forcing your child to defend their own beliefs.
Progressive ‘Christian’ writers, especially those who graduate from the above-mentioned schools are also pushing the idea that oppression is everywhere and that White American history is the cause of all social problems, church problems, and emotional problems.
The starting point for critical pedagogy is a recognition that classrooms are sites of power, privilege and hierarchy; that teaching is an inherently political act; and that the politics of the classroom are obfuscated and need to be revealed and critically assessed.

In critical pedagogy, as in critical race theory, there are no gray areas. If your child does not agree with the teacher, they are going to be told they are wrong.
Critical pedagogy is based on the work of Brazilian philosopher Paulo Freire. The country of Brazil is known for it’s extreme dichotomy of rich and poor. His theories do not translate to the American experience of education.
A native of Brazil, Freire’s goal was to eradicate illiteracy among people from previously colonized countries and continents. His insights were rooted in the social and political realities of the children and grandchildren of former slaves. His ideas, life, and work served to ameliorate the living conditions of oppressed people.

Freire was greatly influenced by Karl Marx’s ideas.
Karl Marx’s ideas were foremost influential on Freire’s own philosophy. Among the ideas from Marx that influenced Freire are Marx’s class consciousness, his concept of labor, and false consciousness. For Marx, when a person gains awareness of their class consciousness, they become cognizant of their economic place in their society and thus of their class interests. Freire’s concept of conscientização points to the process of becoming aware not only of one’s class, but also more broadly of the roles one’s race, gender, physical ability, and so forth play in our society. Freire, like Marx, believed that it is through our work that humans can change the world.

Is your young child going to be able to stand up to their teacher in a classroom setting? Doubtful.
Rather than imposing this burden on children, it would make more sense to simply model fair and equal treatment of men, women, and all races. But that would mean changing the entire school system.
Critical theories are not without their critics. Perhaps the major criticism of them is that they fail to provide rational standards by which they can justify themselves, by which they can show themselves to be “better” than other theories of knowledge, science, or practice.

This is truly a crisis and I pray our parents will wake up before it’s all too late!
It’s so bizarre to see this in our country. We have been invaded.
By idiots!!!!
Oh— that’s probably not a PC description 🙄
Idiots is a perfect word. I added a few things to this blog about Paulo Freire.
I’d say they were simply ignorant, didn’t know better—but the scary and sad thing is that deep down they do—so yes, IDIOT!
and not by aliens might I add…
I’m thankful that I don’t have kids in the school systems anymore…! And I pray that brave mothers and fathers take on the fight to stop this from happening!
