Trusting God Completely: Devotion with Podcast

I have always loved Proverbs 3:5-6.

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.

But last year God helped me see that I was only trusting him sometimes and with some things, but with other things I was still relying on my own strength. I was not always acknowledging him or seeking His will and I was often getting things wrong when I did that. One day I realized that when I tried to ‘figure things out’ or ask friends what to do, or just ignore the problem , I was not trusting that God was willing and able to help me with that problem. Some of it was just old habits and the fact that I tend to be a bit impulsive and some of it was that I really did not trust God completely. God showed me that he didn’t just die for my sins so I can go to heaven some day, but that he also cares about my life on earth. I began to see God as the Good and loving Father that he is! Not just a powerful judge or creator, but someone who knows my needs. You can trust Him, too.

Matthew 6:33 helps me when I get worried about earthly things I think about this promise.

Seek ye first his kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be give to you as well.

And Phillipians 4: 6-7 gives me supernatural peace in times of trouble.

6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Heavenly Father, I pray that I will never doubt your love and care for me, but when I do , I trust that you love me anyway and are willing to forgive me when I ask. Thank you for your mercy and grace. Please bless all who read this post today and show them the way to you. Amen.
