My legs are sore , I feel so weak
I’m hungry , I can barely speak
I must have food, salty please
A huge potato, lots of cheese
16 miles of sweaty running
Down road and trail way too sunny
So much sweat my shoes were squishing
Almost done my brain was wishing
Now it’s done , time to rest
Good job legs , you passed the test.
I ran about four miles a day for twenty years – enough, thank you. I do remember how good it felt to be finished. 😉 And in Michigan to run down the hill and into the lake – >ahhh….<
Wow! That’s nice and consistent! Do you run at all now ? Or mostly hiking ?
Hiking, biking, elliptical machine at the gym. I can even walk with a spring in my step most of the time. 🙂 But getting up out of a low chair or taking on a flight of stairs, suddenly I’m an old woman. Running ruined my knees. Please be careful. (Wear good shoes!)
Forgive me, that was an exaggeration. “Ruining” my knees would mean I couldn’t walk now, and 99% of the time I’m fine. (Ingrate.
)
No worries! I’m glad they’re not ruined!
Great poem!
Thank you 😊
Training run for an upcoming race?
Yes, a couple of 50ks. Thanks for reading!
