I chose the red pill and when my eyes were opened to the truth I dug in.
(An old post I’m just now publishing)
For a while I was obsessed with discovering the truth and reading about past, present and future schemes, real corruption and conspiracies. It wasn’t a bad thing , it needed to happen. It’s not good to believe lies. I lost a lot of illusions along the journey, and several friends. I fell down many rabbit holes. I was surprised to learn how much I didn’t know or had not deemed important about world and American history. I sat at my computer until my shoulder ached. And now, I know that objects in mirror may be different than they appear.

My red-pilling began when Trump was elected in 2016 and continued when the world was locked down for Covid. Like a lot of people I had a lot of free time to research.
By red-pilled I mean that I lost a lot of illusions and delusions that I had accepted as true and never questioned. For example, I wasn’t aware how the media is used to control public behavior in so many ways. While discovering the truth was unsettling , it also helped me have more empathy for and less fear of “other” people because now I understand that we don’t have as much freedom or democracy as I once thought.
I discovered that the internet is a good thing and a bad thing. If you’re not careful, you can fall into any number of dangers. You have to pay attention to warning signs.
But you can also discover alternative narratives and different interpretations of historical events and even different interpretations of science. I was happy to find, for example, that not everyone believes “the science” is settled about evolution and vaccines . Many scientists, especially biologists and physicists do not agree , for example, with the academic position on evolution that we are taught in school as being proven.
I learned that the early progressive movement was spawned by the scientific revolution and has been trying to make America into a socialist utopia for over one hundred years. I realized that the technocratic agenda is going to continue because that’s what most people think they want. They want to give up freedom in exchange for bureaucratic promises of security. And the public schools and Hollywood make sure they want that.
Most people are totally fine with letting things proceed however our politicians decide as long as they get to stay in their comfort zone. And , to be fair, many progressive goals have had good intentions, like ending racial segregation and child labor, but they always have unintended consequences . The worst one being that every one leads to a bigger and more powerful government.
From about 2020-2022 a lot of us thought the world was about to end, but even though it didn’t, we were full of persistent anxiety . The lockdowns ended but people were afraid to leave their houses. People kept getting pointless and risky vaccines. Relationships were broken, jobs lost, confusion and depression were rampant.
But you can’t keep the people down forever . Even though Trump lost to Biden, life went on! And after my husband recovered from Covid and he found a new normal living life with a bad knee, I was ready to start living again. My kids grew up and moved out and I needed to find something to do besides research. I stopped making podcasts. I took a few steps back from the conspiracy theory mania. All along I had tried to read a good balance of information, but I cut back on some of the channels that I noticed were pretty much just fear-mongering click bait.
During this truth-seeking journey I was also experiencing spiritual growth. God kept showing me in the Bible and in my own life many examples of how He works out His plans. In this technologically advanced world, we expect change and solutions to be very fast, but God’s plans are often worked out across decades and centuries. The current world situation is the result of hundreds of years of so-called ‘enlightenment’ which is really a turning away from God. I also learned to pray and really mean the Lord’s Prayer. THY will be done!
I learned that God means it when He says to LOVE others, forgive them, pray for them, and do good to them, even when they mistreat you. That’s true Christianity . And I also learned that other religions have similar beliefs and values.
Now we are back in another bizarre election season, with two candidates providing daily entertainment and fodder for endless talking heads, articles and videos. So many people are burned out on politics. While it can be entertaining, I think those of us who got red-pilled know that whoever wins, there are people way more powerful behind the scenes who control this country and the world. Even if Trump wins, he is going to instantly meet resistance from the Democrats in Congress and there is the risk of him being assassinated by a TDS victim. If Harris wins, she better put on her big girl pants because she has a tough road ahead because this country is a mess.
What many people don’t realize is that all of ‘Harris’s’ plans are simply continuations of Biden’s policies, including the ‘building of millions of houses’. If you look into that you will find that they have been trying to get more houses built for the past two years! It’s not working so they will have to bribe states to literally overrule local zoning laws to get it done. Even in red Texas. https://www.texastribune.org/2024/03/27/texas-republicans-housing-affordability-zoning-land-use/ (Edit: So far , this doesn’t appear to be one of the goals of the Republicans.)
Based on my red-pill education, I believe that the rich will get richer, income inequality will continue to worsen, social spending will increase and will require massive taxation, and privacy and personal freedom will decrease as more people become dependent on the government. AI will be used to monitor and manipulate the public in very powerful ways by the government and we will be told that it is for our own good. There are many reasons for the current situation. The problem is that there really is no going back.
And now that I know the truth, I’ve come full circle. My knowledge base has expanded and my suspicions have been confirmed. Basically what the Bible says about ‘the world’ is all true! Rather than ‘progress’, the world has been declining since Adam and Eve sinned.
I will still keep observing events and writing about them, and I will keep trusting God with my life. There is nothing new under the sun.
Note : this article has been sitting in my Draft folder since I started it last April 2024! What’s changed? If anything, I’m even less interested in trying to predict the future. I’m not sure I agree with everything Trump is doing but I’m waiting to see how it plays out. The Intel thing bothers me. I’m more interested lately in Texas state and local politics because my eyes are more open to the importance of certain taxes in preventing our state from becoming shitty due to poverty and extreme inequality, and I’m questioning my libertarian utopia views , and seeing the truth of corporate welfare . 🤷🏻♀️
I starting questioning my Libertarian Utopian beliefs during the Bush-Clinton Era. The issue with Laissez-Faire Capitalism is that its theories were formulated at a time prior to the Industrial Revolution. In the 18th and most of the 19th Century, it was literally impossible for monopolistic corporations or vast concentrations of wealth to occur without Governmental interference. The Industrial Revolution, with mass-production, mass-distribution, mass-communications and the enormous of capital required to build these enterprises through the Stock Exchange made it possible for the Private Sector to become just as powerful as the old Aristocracies were. Imperial Japan, with a figurehead king for the public while CEOs actually ran the State was the logical outcome of that system.
Marxist Communism has much the same problem: its doctrines were formulated at the outset of the Industrial Revolution when many of the Punditocracy of the late 19th Century believed that Technology could never advance any further than it had. It was theoretically possible then for the Proletariat, led by a Party, to take over the means of production and distribution and manage it. This is why Communism never took root any place other than underdeveloped countries like Russia, China, parts of Africa, and Cuba. Germany and Italy in the early 20th Century were examples of where that system logically led: where both organized Labor and Big Business were subservient to a Political Party.
In the US, the New Deal, even though it had a lot of flaws, was an attempt to correct some of these tendencies with a regulated Free Market and a Social Security System. Contrary to what Liberal Democrats say, Reaganomics was an attempt to reform—not abolish—the New Deal from some its inherent problems (e.g. an ossified and entrenched Government Bureaucracy and autocratic Labor Unions which had ceased to represent workers). The Neocons and the Clinton/Obama Machine corrupted what Reagan started with ‘Private-Public Partnerships’ and the logical outcome of that is what we’re seeing today, with the initiation of something like a Globalist Control Grid (or a ‘matrix’ as they say), where Big Government and Big Business form something of a symbiotic relationship.
Thank you. Good historical support .
Great post! I’m glad you fished it out and posted it. 🙂
