While I don’t always agree with this blogger , and I definitely do believe in certain dichotomies, and right and wrong, I think it’s very important to consider that not every situation is black and white. And some of us have strong tendencies towards “black and white” snap judgments . It’s good to take a breath and ask yourself if there’s more to the story .
If that opening paragraph makes you uncomfortable you may suffer from rigid thinking patterns that make it hard for you to see nuances and perspectives. This is actually a weakness, not a strength and is worth working on . It can be very freeing to let go of a perceived responsibility for the whole world.
Even more important is being able to live and let live and not let other people’s choices ruin your happiness. If they’re not hurting you or breaking laws, it’s not your problem .
I don’t know which generation is worse about not minding their own business, boomers or Millennials. People need to stop thinking they have a right to control other people.
This post isn’t really about any particular topic , but you could apply it to the Kings Protests. If those people want to do that , let them . We don’t have to be angry or agree with them. I’m thankful for the freedom to protest .
