Don’t Trust the Post Office with Your Packages!

The following is the journey that my package has taken. It was mailed on November 18 and has been touring the country. It left Texas, then instead of being sent to the address which was about 2.5 hours away, was sent to New York for some reason. Then it came back to Texas and was very close to it’s destination and then got sent to Austin AGAIN for more fun times.

I called the post office customer line for help and they said it was a 45 minute wait. I then tried to open a case online like the automated robot told me to do , but there is literally no such page on their website. There is a File a claim page, but that says you must have paperwork. I sent it by Priority Mail, no extra insurance, therefore no paperwork. Only a tracking number.

This is ridiculous! The following timeline is in reverse order because that is how they display it for some reason. Do not send anything valuable by USPS!

The most current is at the top. It stopped moving in Austin.

The package has still not arrived as of December 15, and the system doesn’t seem to know what to do about it.

  1. That’s ridiculous! I had trouble with a package from Macy’s. I ordered Frango mints on Nov. 22. I mail them out to my husband’s clients with a Christmas card. November 25, UPS said they received the label. But then they never received the box. I followed up with Macy’s and UPS. Macy’s said UPS had not updated their tracking info and they did indeed have the package. They told me it would be delivered by Dec. 4. It was not. UPS insisted they didn’t have the package. It arrived at our house Saturday. I had ordered two packages that day from Macy’s and the other package arrived on Nov. 25. No rhyme or reason.

  2. I hear you! I was just complaining about the post office. Just to mail something across town here requires it to be sent across the state to a distribution center before being sorted and sent back. Takes several days. Don’t even get me started about trying to mail bills. Three weeks later you’re still trying to find out whatever happened to the power bill you paid. We do seem to have really good Amazon and UPS delivery, so that’s something, but I just groan when a package is coming by regular mail.

    • It’s really bad . I see people complaining about not getting their mail on the local Facebook page all the time . I’m glad I have online bill pay for all my bills.

  3. That’s crazy, Paula. I’m sorry you’re going through this, and I hope your package reaches its destination soon.

Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas. 🎄🎁

    With love, Bonnie ❤️😊

  4. I’m sad that you had such a bad experience, but I have very rarely encountered difficulties with the USPS.
Of the people I know that work for them, most are contentious workers who try to do their best.
    ❤️&🙏, c.a.
