Keeping Up With Fast “Breaking News”

Thing have been happening so fast in the political drama that it can be hard to keep up, especially since we don’t get ‘the news’ now the way we did in the past, through radio, TV and newspapers. If you want to be one fo the first to know what’s happening in the world, don’t expect to see it on Facebook. The best way is to check YouTube for breaking news, and follow the major news sources by email. You can choose which types of emails you want to receive to keep your inbox from overflowing.

For example, I get emails from Reuters. Not because I always agree with their interpretation of events, but because they are very quick to get the information out. For example, yesterday I was looking at my phone at 1:30 and I saw that Biden had stepped down. I thought I saw it in an email, but I must have clicked on a Reuters email which took me to their website where I saw the following Breaking News. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/biden-81-pulls-out-presidential-race-2024-07-21/

Since then there have been hundreds of articles and videos hastily published about Biden’s’choosing’ to drop out. It was the hottest story going on a sleepy Sunday. Today the story is all about Kamala Harris and the Democrats.

I get it if you have zero interest in following the shenanigans. But sometimes important news happens that we all need to be aware of, which is why I recommend signing up for emails from at least one news source such as Reuters or AP or even CNN. They may not tell you the truth, but they will tell you the latest moves in the game. Then, of course, you have to check your email as often as you check your social media.

  1. Very true that politics is moving so fast right now! Definitely agree that the best way to stay on top of it is to use youtube. I’m subscribed to a few news organisations by email as well.
