Conspiracy Theories

The world is going to end on September 23, 2023! I know this because the internet told me. Oops, turns out that theory has been recycled year after year since at least 2017. But something bad is going to happen on October 4th when the FEMA alert goes out. Right?

What did we used to talk about ?

I was thinking how we rarely discussed politics or national news when we first got married. We were busy living our lives and doing fun stuff on the weekends. We talked about real life issues that directly impacted us and our children. My friends and I would talk about budgeting, homeschooling, pregnancy, child behavior problems, books, travel plans, gardening, meal planning, household organization, how to clean things, church, doctrine, Scripture, prayer requests, and health concerns.

But since 2008, conversation has turned more and more to politics, current events, the economy, and, since 2020, the idea that “terrible things are being done and more are coming soon”. It’s hard to discuss this on a blog because people think I am saying that conspiracies aren’t happening. People think I am being a hypocrite, and it’s a valid accusation because I was caught up in that fake news generated fear for a long time. But I realized that much of it was recycled and exaggerated to make it seem worse than it was. I tried to find a balance between doom and hope. And now that AI can be used by anyone to quickly write articles and make videos, I urge everyone to doubt EVERYTHING until you have more evidence of veracity.

I am aware that there are powerful people who are making plans behind closed doors that impact our economy and our freedom. The technocracy is coming. But I also believe that much of the information that is put out on Rumble and ‘conservative’ websites is total junk. So much of it has no substance, is factually wrong, or is old news that has been recycled! And if you pay close attention, you’ll realize that most of the terrible things never happen or keep getting pushed down the calendar. I admit, though, that I am still expecting the economy to crash. Hopefully Larry Fink has it ALL FIXED, wink, wink.

The really bad stuff that is happening that is impacting your lives directly is rarely mentioned on the most popular websites. The 2008 financial crash was a REAL thing that changed our economy, just like 9/11 and Covid gave the government more power. The real news is what is happening in our government. Like Biden hiring crazy people for his cabinet. Like who are the very, very rich people behind the transgender agenda which has stated goals of eliminating gender distinctions. Like the financing of the Climate agenda and the laws that allowed the printing of trillions of dollars by the Fed. Like the ways that the globalists manipulate you with nudges and fake news to keep you buying stuff.

Bad news is so interesting!

Conspiracies are very popular! Just like gossip and rumors, they never go out of style. I ask myself why and it’s not hard to figure out. BOREDOM. Let’s face it, getting old often means losing the physical ability, and sometimes financial and mental abilities, to do the things we used to enjoy. Children move out and never visit, and these days they don’t even get married or have children. Spouses and parents die or start having health issues. Getting older is really not much fun unless you are rich and even then it can suck if you don’t have your health or your significant other dies. Loneliness and the growing awareness of death can take a toll on your mood. It takes great effort to stay motivated and get up every day and keep going if you have lost your sense of purpose.

And let’s not leave out the young people. I like listening to them more. They are also making money off talking about politics, investing, crypto, and trying to navigate the technology that will change their future. Young people are talking to young people. Some of them are saying the same BS. Others offer hope and solutions for living in a world screwed up by conspiratorial old men. Talking about stuff is a big business. And many young people are also bored and lonely and struggling to find meaning and purpose in life because they can’t afford the family that they should have by now. And there are reasons for that which could be explained with a ‘conspiracy theory’, but that is not for this post.

Conspiracy theories provide a little jolt of excitement. They make you feel like you are participating in politics. By staying on top of the latest news one can feel ‘prepared’ for whatever they say is coming. All of that is a false hope, of course. If the SHTF, as they like to say, we are not going to be ‘okay’. I have read enough dystopian novels to know how it works.

Reality

We are modern humans. We cannot grow food, find water sources, or eat wild plants. We can’t even live without electricity or internet for 24 hours! Gas pumps and well pumps and credit cards and cell phones, all quit working if there is no electricity. No water treatment, no food delivery, no oxygen machines, no prescription pickups. If there is an EMP or some kind of cyberattack that takes out power, we are screwed. Canned goods and a few boxes of ammo won’t save us. The situation will devolve quickly into chaos and violence as people fight for water, food, and the medication that millions need daily.

Deep down we know the truth. But ‘following’ our favorite channels and charismatic people make us feel a little safer. And yet, some people think that a revolution is the answer. I guess they have forgotten that a revolution will lead to the same conditions mentioned above. Lots of death, hunger, rape, burning down of houses and businesses, and a long period of rebuilding. We don’t live in Civil War days. We depend on factories and materials that take time to acquire. Rebuilding the cities and infrastructure we enjoy today would take a few generations and millions would die of starvation.

It’s okay to enjoy a little escapist entertainment, but be careful not to support anything permanently damaging. We do not want to unwittingly empower the next dictator. I am hoping that the ‘evil rich White men in charge’ care enough about their own families that they won’t destroy the world. The real danger are the ‘true believers’ and those with nothing to lose. People who think that destroying the economy is ‘saving the earth’ scare me the most. And religious crusaders are next in my list of dangerous people. I am much more concerned about people who want to curtail my rights in the name of religion than I am of those who are simply greedy.

Take Back Your Mind

Are you addicted to conspiracy theories? Do an experiment to find out out. Can you go all day without reading or listening to some talking head telling you scary stories? Can you talk about anything else? Has anyone you care about mentioned to you that you should stop reading ‘all that stuff’? Are you questioning your favorite internet personalities or just believing everything they say?

Take back your mind and cultivate your own life. Find some hobbies, read a nice novel, go back to church and start participating. Meet your neighbors, go on a date, text or call your old friend and see how they are doing. Plant some flowers. Build something. Get some chickens. Get off the internet and start living your life again. Find a balance. Yes, bad things might happen. But that is nothing new. If you really want to be ‘in the know’, study history. Read the Bible. Then you will see that ‘there is nothing new under the sun.’ People have been conspiring, murdering, plotting, greedy, power-hungry since the Garden. Don’t let it get you down.

God’s got this.

  1. Wow! What a way to get on “the safe list” by making fun of all the conspiracy theories! Now “they” won’t be out to get you!😎😂

You know what John Kerry said at last year’s COP27 climate conference, where he boasted to world leaders that his climate scheme would be similar to COVID-19 restrictions.
He wants total authoritarian control for all but the “select group of human beings because of whatever touched us at some point in our lives — are able to sit in a room and come together and actually talk about saving the planet,”
Now there’s a conspiracy we can sink our teeth into.
