Today I checked the thermostat that tells the outside temperature and I got a welcome surprise: 70 degrees!!! I was so excited! It feels really nice at the moment. I even brought Grace out on the deck . It’s been awhile since she’s been outside because of the heat .

I’ve noticed that the evening temps , while still in the low 90s , feel much better after the sun drops below the tree line .

While sitting on my couch at 6:30 PM, looking out the Eastward window, I can see the shadow cast by the house on the brown grass and it is growing longer every day. These long shadows tell me that Fall is not too far off. I can’t wait ! In the summer the sun is almost directly overhead from sunrise to sunset. While long days are nice, the heat isn’t.

The morning shadows are getting tall, too .
