Yes, It Is Hotter Than Usual in Texas

Maximum— Minimum —Average —Departure from Norm
I used Columbus because it’s close to my house.

In case you were wondering, while summer is always hot in Texas, this year has been hotter than average. As you can see, it has been 100 degrees or more every day since July 11. We also had three 100 degree days and many mid-90 days in June which is unusual. Keep in mind that the heat index, or feels like temp, has been much hotter.

We are also in a drought and praying for rain. Fires are starting to pop up in the news again. https://www.kxan.com/news/local/austin/2023-central-texas-wildfire-map/ The weatherman says we might get a few drops of rain this week. Here’s hoping!

So forgive us for complaining about the weather, we really are boiling down here. Not that I blame it on ‘manmade climate change’. I was just wondering if it really was hotter or am I just getting old.

  1. Yes, same for AZ, but be careful with the stats as media tend to hype the “we’re all gonna die unless you pay our politician…”
