Zero. Zip. Nada. NO SALES. I honestly don’t know why. I’ve checked my account details and links. I’ve read the rules. I just am not getting clicks. I’m here holding my hands up. I do get some traffic, not a whole lot compared to others, so you’d think I’d get a least ONE sale? I know that Amazon will not give credit to friends and family who use your links, but surely WordPress readers are not included in that group?
I actually find this very interesting because as I wrote in this post, I have a long history of failure to make money! It’s almost like God really doesn’t want me to get paid. Yet, He always provides! But He provides in unique and unexpected ways. As I said in the post, my job seems to be money manager for the money that my husband provides through his work. I think I have done a decent job of stretching one income for a large family. I could have done better and we did rack up too much credit card debt when the kids were younger. Some of it was from dental and doctor expenses and some was living expenses. I am trying to pay off those cards now.
One thing that has really helped our budget is using balance transfer offers to make sure that all of my credit card debt has 0% interest. This makes it so that the entire payment actually goes to pay down the balance. Juggling this cards is a job in itself! I have saved thousands in interest since I started doing this a few years ago and I am finally getting a few cards paid off completely. It’s a great feeling.
As for the Amazon associate attempt, I have tried making posts that are more product focused, doing reviews, and have my links posts in many places. Maybe I am doing it wrong. Thoughts? Any tips are welcome! I just thought I’d give an update. Happy Thursday!

To be honest I never look at ads or click on things when I’m reading something. I’m not a browser. When I buy something it’s with intent, like I go to a website and look specifically for something.
Me, too. But evidently some people make money doing this.
I have never been able to make money beyond what I worked for in laboratory hours or constructing houses. And then, it was paper thin compared to most builders who cut corners to maximize profit. I just could not do that, so my earnings from GCing projects was meager.
But Father has always provided, and like you, sometimes in surprising ways.
Our key has been to avoid credit card debt!! We’ve seen friends who live within “controlled debt,” meaning every paycheck was hand-to-mouth and supporting VISA and MASTERCARD buildings that are enormous and beautiful… How do they pay for THEM!? 😉

I hear you, Paula! I have tried FOR YEARS to find a way to help make money in our household. Nothing, and I mean nothing (I tried the amazon route as well among others!), has panned out. It has been very frustrating, but like you, I have done my best to take the money my husband earns and manage it to the best of my ability. It hasn’t always been with success, but we are getting there. Paying off that credit card debt feels so good! We aren’t free and clear yet but am hoping that we will be by next year. Lately, when I have been praying about the money situation, God has been getting through to me…I think, lol. Like you, He has ALWAYS provided for us. Always. And I really feel like He is telling me that making money isn’t my job. And me, being the stubborn person I am, may or may not have argued about this…slightly, lol. Ok not slightly, but the fact that He is FINALLY getting through to me must mean something….like maybe I am starting to listen, I hope, lol. Praying that you are able to get rid of that debt once and for all! God Bless!

I have no idea how any of it works. But it’s nice knowing it’s not always successful because you see the influencers who do get the system to work for them, and you wonder. Who knows, maybe in time 🙂 it will work better for you!
