YouTube is a really big deal .
YouTube is the number one media influencer of children and young adults today and top educational source for millions of DIYers, school kids, tech users, shoppers and cooks.
Many people also use Youtube as their main news source.
The sheer power of these videos is mind-blowing, including the power to learn things and improve your life, and the power to influence behavior for good and bad.
What about your YouTube channel? Do you have one? If you don’t , what would your channel be about if you made one? Have you ever tried to get a channel started and then given up because it was not taking off?
Let’s face it, not everyone is going to be as popular as PewDiePie. Being successful on Youtube takes hard work, creativity, and a little luck. Plus, camera equipment is not cheap, and all that video editing takes a lot of time. .
Maybe being in front of the camera is not for you. But did you know that you are actually being viewed right now?
The Bible teaches us that God sees and knows everything we do and keeps a record of it. Yes, even our thoughts! It also says that there will be a day when we will stand before God and be held accountable for every word spoken and every deed done , as well as the things we didn’t do.
For example , in Matthew 25 Jesus tells us that we are to help others and that we will be judged for not helping . This is because as believers we are to love our neighbor as ourselves, meaning that if we have God’s love in us it will be demonstrated by how we treat others.
And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ Matthew 25:40 ESV
And in Matthew 12, Jesus warns that we will be held accountable for the words we speak.
But I tell you that men will give an account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. 37For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.” Matthew 12:36-37 ESV
The good news is that we do not have to fear judgment if we are in Christ. We have already had our sins forgiven by Jesus by believing through faith that He is the Son of God who died for us and was resurrected and is coming back again. Thanks to what Jesus did for us, believers will not be sentenced to death for those careless words and sinful deeds.
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
God knows what is not seen by others as well; our thoughts, our motives and our emotions. Being aware of this can cause us to feel guilty or afraid of God. But He is full of mercy and grace for those who fear Him. This means that God forgives those who ask for forgiveness. He loves us! Don’t let your guilt make you run FROM God when you mess up. Instead run TO Him! He is faithful to forgive.
However, Jesus says that how we live (our fruit) is proof of who we are on the inside. If we are truly believers, we will take care to live in obedience to Christ, and not continue sinning like before. This doesn’t mean you will be perfect. But it does mean that your desire to please God will grow and you desire to please yourself will get weaker. This is a lifelong process.
So as you consider the “video” that’s being made of your life today, be sure that it’s one that you will be comfortable watching with God on Judgment Day . His “Like” is the only one that really matters in the end.
Sometimes people joke about a video of their lives being played in heaven.
Some people do not give their real name, nor their real gender, nor their real age. And, when people want to know if WHO watches their videos, they are actually asking WHO the person is. Mentioning the age and location might be good for the channel maker in deciding what else to put on their channel. However, when a person is asking if a Youtuber can tell WHO is watching, the Youtuber DOES NOT KNOW THE REAL NAME OF THE PERSON. By the way, my name is not really Rei, and, you do not know my age.
