We’ve had extreme heat this week in Texas and other states in the United States. You feel like you’re being baked in a hot oven when you stand outside, even in the shade . It’s been quite hot for a few weeks, mid to upper 90s plus humidity, which is normal for summer in Texas. So I’ve been getting up early a lot to run and just to get stuff done .

Last weekend I finished my 1000k virtual race! It took me 100 days. That’s an average of 10k per day, for those with math issues. 😁 I didn’t run every single day. May was my best month , 219 miles, with June not far behind at 204 miles, July was hot but I still managed 156 including hiking in Colorado and then finished up in August. So far I have 71 miles for this month.

I really took it easy running this week ,but I also finally started and almost finished a task I’ve been procrastinating on, painting and organizing my dining room/school room. I’m so happy that the painting part is done! Now I have to figure out what to do with the books that we aren’t going to use anymore. Anybody need some homeschool books? I bought a ceiling fan for the room and my husband and I and kids all installed it, with hubby doing the hard parts of building it and wiring it and doing lots of grumbling. Did you know they come unassembled in the box? It looks really nice and helps cool the room. We’ve lived here over 16 years and never had a fan in there for some reason. All the other rooms have fans! I also replaced the kitten -damaged curtains but the ones I got don’t block the light as good as the ones I had so that’s kinda annoying. That window faces west and in the summer the sun blares in like a heat lamp. All the west windows have blinds, reflective film, dark screens and curtains. And it still gets over 80 inside with the air conditioner running nonstop ! It’s hot y’all !

I got up early yesterday and got in 9 easy trail miles at the state park . I was the spider web clearer because I was the first one there. Here’s a few pics.

Have a great day and remember, Jesus is the only way to God!
16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. – John 3:16-19
Yikes – that’s hot! In Wisconsin, we had maybe a week of those temps. This morning it was 47 when I got up, will top off in the low 80s today. Way to keep running despite the temps. I bet that helps clear your head and find wonderful moments of prayer. Are you going to homeschool by choice or because it’s all virtual where you live? I feel for all the families with kids nowadays – this is one heck of a bizarre situation that I pray ends soon. Stay well and keep running!
We were already homeschoolers. Very glad for that.
