We all know that there are many lies and half-truths and outright fraud going on in multiple aspects of society and government. But there is one very dangerous bit of misinformation that has become widely accepted and assimilated by people who normally don’t fall for lies.
This misinformation brings comfort to people and makes them feel safe and secure, but it is straight from the devil and believing it will send you to hell.
The main lie that millions are being deceived by is this : “I don’t need to worry about life after death“. There are different reasons that go with this belief. Such as: “because everyone goes to a ‘better place/heaven after they die”; or, because “I am a good/moral person.”; or, because “there’s no such thing as hell/God/life after death”.
Related beliefs include popular misinformation such as:
Jesus was just a great teacher, I know everything I need to know about Jesus because I am a spiritual person, Jesus is just another prophet, Jesus didn’t die for MY sins, Jesus didn’t die to atone for sin, God never meant for Jesus to die for sins, and other twisting of the truth of the Bible.
According to a 2022 Gallup Poll only about half of respondents believe in an after life!
Even people who consider themselves Christians have fallen for this misinformation. A different 2020 Poll found that over half of US Christians agreed that ‘being a good person’ gets them into heaven. Details here https://www.arizonachristian.edu/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/AWVI-2020-Release-08-Perceptions-of-Sin-and-Salvation.pdf
These wrong beliefs are a result of the intentional teaching of wrong theology as well as the lack of teaching or correct theology.
The truth according to the Bible is that everyone will one day stand before God to give an account for our lives. We are all guilty and unworthy of heaven because of our sin nature and actual sins, (except for those who are unaccountable due to young age or mental disability). But those who are able to understand their sinfulness and have repented and put their faith in the atoning death and resurrection of Jesus Christ for forgiveness of sins will not be condemned because our sins were paid for by Jesus. That is what the Bible calls salvation and it required that a sinless substitute pay the ultimate price for our sins. Jesus died to save sinners.
So don’t be fooled by misinformation about your eternal destiny! Read the Bible yourself and see what it says about God’s expectations, holiness, the afterlife, sin, hell, and who Jesus was and why he came to earth. You might find that you have been deceived.

It’s difficult to ‘like’ a post that makes you squirm. Ha! I can’t believe those percentages, though; that’s sad
Pretty shocking . Of course Europe has been mostly post-Christian for years.
I have found that many people who claim to be Christians do not actually know the Word of God and many lack understanding. Due to the that, some who claim to be a Christian may not actually be
I’m afraid you are right. People don’t seem to understand the actual gospel .
