Jesus, the Impartial Judge. Nobody Is Excused

Jesus did not excuse anyone when he walked the earth. He warned the hypocritical, greedy, scheming religious leaders that they needed to humble themselves and be forgiven. AND he told the downtrodden, leppers, crippled, poor, prisoners, and every other oppressed class that they needed forgiveness of sins. He came to save all of us from the penalty of sin.

Romans 3:23-24

[23] for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, [24] and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,

We are all in the same boat. We all need salvation. No one is going to be excused or have automatic forgiveness of sins because they had a bad childhood or suffered from racism or sexism or learning disabilities or pain. Anyone with the mental capacity to understand the concept of right and wrong is expected to repent and ask Jesus to save them.

Sin is not just breaking one of the Ten Commandments. Sin is a human condition that separates us from God.

But people who have been hurt or unfairly treated sometimes focus only on the sins of others. They may believe that because of their mistreatment they don’t have any need for forgiveness. However, God doesn’t see things that way. Holding hate and unforgiveness towards those who hurt you in your heart or seeking revenge is a sin. Don’t let your scars prevent you from turning to only one who can offer healing and, ultimately, judgment on the ones who hurt you.

Let your experiences of abuse or oppression turn you to God, not away from him. He is not the one oppressing you. But He can save you, and He will heal your trauma and pain. You can trust Him. He’s not like human fathers or mothers. He’s not like your unfaithful spouse. He won’t abandon you like your best friend. He’s not like the uncaring teacher that made you feel unworthy. He is the good friend, the loving father, the best teacher, your ultimate husband. Turn to Him today.
