The True, the Good, and the Beautiful?

I’m going to echo insanitybytes’ sentiment. I think many of us are so distraught over the seemingly insurmountable problems in our world that we don’t talk enough about the blessings and grace of God. I know that there’s a ton of material available for articles of the former type , but all of us have at least one good thing to be thankful for today . That one good thing is Jesus!

The whole church praying over our recent graduates. I’m so thankful for my church!

I’m also very thankful that even though America is deteriorating, my local government and community is still very conservative and law abiding and kind to others. I’m thankful for the good people who give of their time and money to help make our county safe, clean, spiritually growing, and child-friendly.

Those of you who normally write about politics and evil, I challenge you to write a post about the good.

Rod Dreher made a really good point in his review of “The Boniface Option” about how we can sometimes be quite clear about all the things we hate, …

  1. Ahh, thank you for the kind mention. That is a marvelous photo of people praying for graduates! Those little things are worth noting and celebrating because they aren’t the little things at all.

  2. Because of time constrains, I’ll answer your challenge here.
I’m thankful that I’m still breathing, the brain’s still working, the sun is shining gloriously, I’ve had a good sleep, my mother’s help is stable and I’m still enjoying my work, the stars, the sky, nature a friendly smile from time to time and some funny joke that makes me laugh.
I’m thankful that I can still enjoy music and that I’m not depressed despite many negative thoughts.
I know that even all the negative stuff happens for a reason.
Once I lost faith because tragedy had struck me.
Many years later, when faith returned, I embraced the tragedy.
With God even tragedy makes sense. It happens for a reason.
Anyway, today is a good day and it’s good be thankful for the good things which I take for granted.

I'd love to hear your thoughts!
