Brownies, Tiny Entrepreneurs, and an Art Duel: 2022 Birthday Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Yesterday was my birthday. I gave it four stars because I didn’t get to see my three older kids, but it was a good day.

Birthdays are complicated for me. I have trouble celebrating special occasions because my expectations range from zero to off the chart. I really want to just have fun! But my tendency to say “but” always threatens to bring disappointment.

So after a few hours of trying to decide what I wanted to do, we went to an art festival. It turned out to be a great decision! You can see the video below.

My husband who really doesn’t like holidays did a great job catering to my every whim and making sure I didn’t have to cook yesterday. I cook EVERY DAY, and I’m so over it, so yesterday he smoked some delicious chicken for me.

My wonderful mom brought me gluten free brownies and beautiful flowers and a card at 8:30 in the morning, and I promptly ate some of the brownies for breakfast.

The Texas art and music festival far exceeded my expectations! Not only was this really cool art duel happening, but there was also an Acton Children’s Business Fair. I bought three different products from the young entrepreneurs.

Downtown Brenham’s newest mural was being painted as we watched!

Seeing those kids made me so happy and hopeful for our future. Boys and girls of all ages brought all kinds of products they developed to sell. I enjoyed talking to each one about the custom comic book, handmade soap, and gluten free cookie mix in a jar that I purchased. Plus my husband and I each got really cool festival T-shirts.

The art duel was surprisingly fun and interesting. A group of artists called Something Cool Studios from Austin demonstrated their spray painting techniques while competing in a tournament. Check out the short video .

It was a good day and I’m thankful for another year of life despite the almost constant stress. I’m learning to just live one day at a time and ask God what he wants me to do that day.

Keep following Jesus!
