I’m currently studying the book of Revelation which many of my readers will know is the description of prophetic visions given to the apostle John that will happen before and when Jesus returns to earth to begin his reign. One major theme of the events of this time period is that people who are not believers in Jesus will be completely fooled, deceived, by Satan, who will use a false prophet and a false messiah to perform amazing signs and even appear to be resurrected. They will be a false trinity , imitating the true trinity of God, the Son, and the Holy Spirit/Ghost. Don’t be afraid to study Revelation, but I would suggest having a good Bible study class or book to help you make sense of it. It can only be understood if you know and believe the rest of the Bible.
The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,2 who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near. Revelation 1:1-3
Due to their lack of knowledge and faith in the real God and Jesus, the unbelievers will worship the false messiah, or beast, and if they refuse they will be killed. God will send plagues and all kinds of disasters, similar to what happened when he saved the Israelites from Egypt, but the world will not repent and they will curse God instead.
We can see this happening already on a much smaller scale, but a sign of things to come. No matter what happens, people refuse to repent of their sins, instead they blame White people, males, Christians, capitalists, anyone that does not fit their idea of what is right. Their hearts are getting hard against truth. Try to speak logically to them and you get attacked. Try to preach to them and you risk your job, reputation and even life. Attacks of various kinds on Christians who try to live according to their beliefs are becoming more common. But where are they getting their ideas? From Satan’s pawns in the media, politicians, professors, false prophets in false churches, unbelieving friends and family, books, movies, and websites.
The cause of this hate is lies, and the cause of the lies is hate. Satan is the father of lies. Un-believers are deceived by lies when they are enraged, self-righteous, self-justifying, and full of hate at anyone who tries to speak truth. This is going to get worse. Stand up for Jesus and the Bible and see what happens. Read the news and see what happens to Christians who don’t back down when pressured to conform to the world’s ‘morals’. Satan has been patiently and systematically corrupting the world by spreading lies of moral relativism, critical theory, universal salvation, anything goes sexuality, as well as literally inciting bizarre violent behavior.
Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you.5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many.6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other,11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold,13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. Matthew 24
The internet, photo shop, deep fakes, and fake news has made it nearly impossible to tell what is real and what is fabricated. Careful examination and research and logic is necessary in some cases to root out the truth. We are starting to see confusing news stories that make us question everything. Satan’s plan is to deceive and draw people to his side in every possible way. Lies are everywhere but who can tell them from the truth? God’s people will be able to discern the truth if they are living in Him. We must be reading the word, praying, and uniting with other believers and helping each other in this age of deception and attack on true Christianity. Compare everything to what you KNOW is true. Don’t be swept up in the mob. Don’t let your faith waver. Don’t be part of Satan’s team, helping destroy other Christians.

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. – John 1:1-5
Excellent post!
Thanks for reading and God bless you!
So very true! God’s Word tells us this will happen, tells us what we need to do to be prepared. If we will rely on Him, His Word, not what every one tells us to believe. Tells us that is “acceptable” by society. I prefer to do what is acceptable to the living God. Do I succeed all the time? No, but I will ask the LORD for help, and try again. I was reading in 1 Timothy today about believing fables, false doctrines. How we will suffer reproach for believing in God, to be examples in word, conversations, purity, and faith. And to take heed in the Word and that will save us, and people who hear us. The world is full of flesh. Full of all that is not profitable, eternally. We have to keep our hearts, minds, and souls focused on God or we will just be tossed to and fro. Sorry to go on and on but such a great post.
It’s sad to see churches are splitting over doctrine, but we were warned, weren’t we?
Yes we were, and a house divided cannot stand. I know that is used by Jesus to describe the evil one but it certainly applies to ALL houses, does it not? What a better way to open the door for “changing” things than splitting doctrine. It opens the door for not only more interpretation of the Word, but also more doubt of non-believers, and more ammunition for the evil of the world to use. If we “Christians” can’t even agree, well then, how sound or true is this belief of theirs.
All we can do is point them (unbelievers) to the Word and hope God enlightens their hearts. But in a way, it’s good that churches are splitting over doctrine, and not just all going the wrong way. I think the true believers will end up together in time. I know they will. 🙂
Great post, my friend. I love the book of Revelation
I keep meaning to take the time to really read Revelations. I don’t think I have gone through the entire book since I was a teenager. I really want to make it a priority..I will have to keep reminding myself of your post and just do it!! God Bless!
I hope you find the time . This is my second study and I’ve learned a lot more this time around. Hope you’re doing well!
Reblogged this on Blue Skies and Green Pastures and commented:
Written before Coronavirus and even more relevant now. Question everything!
So much of this stuff gets glossed over and mocked as crazy these days. I can’t tell you how crazy those people sound, though!
Verse 9 is a bit unsettling but we must cling to the promises.
“The internet, photo shop, deep fakes, and fake news has made it nearly impossible to tell what is real and what is fabricated.”
True! But if we make the effort, we can know the difference. I will be posting something soon based on a series of mini-essays I’ve posted on Facebook: “You’re not stupid – but are you lazy?” It’s sad to think how so many people are content to have someone else tell them what to think, as as you say, try to use logic, and they either get angry or ridicule you.
Looking forward to reading your post.
It’s good to hear someone mentioning the prophesies in Revelation. Not many people refer to it these days, including Christians. I first started studying the book of Revelation around 40 years ago and can see the main story but it is hard to understand some parts, due to it being symbolic mainly, but that’s so it is to be understood globally. Pictures tell better than words.
Forgot to add my details to the above post.
If you want to hear more, just go to Youtube where it is a very hot topic. Thanks for reading!
This is right on target. I appreciated all your thoughts and the thoughts of some of the commenters, too. Yes, we must be people of discernment, and the way we do that is we have to have obedient walks of faith with our Lord and we must be studying his word and testing everything we see and hear against God’s word and in prayer, and the Lord will show us what is false and what is truth. But most of what is out there, even coming from within the church, is fake, it is lies, and it is a “dog and pony show” to entertain the masses and to keep them distracted and not thinking and not examining what is being said to see if it has any truth to it. It is a circus, and yes, it is fulfilling prophecy of Scripture.
I agree. Preaching can be a lucrative business if you say the right things.
Yes, it can, but saying “the right things” is not usually saying the right things, but the wrong things, which I believe is what you meant.
